Yakuza spinoff, Judgment, gets sequel “Lost Judgment” releasing this year

SEGA and Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio recently announced that the critically acclaimed Yakuza series spin-off, Judgment (Judge Eyes: Shinigami no Yuigon in Japan), is getting a sequel called Lost Judgment, launching worldwide for the Playstation 4 and 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S on September 24, 2021.

The sequel will once again star award-winning actor Takuya Kimura as the game’s protagonist Takayuki Yagami, a lawyer turned street-fighting detective. Together with his partner and ex-Yakuza member Masaharu Kaito, they will be solving the mystery to what seems to be the perfect crime, with the prime suspect having a rock solid alibi. Along the way, Yagami will encounter an intricate conspiracy involving different factions, and choose whether to defend the law or exact justice.

Just like the first game, Yagami is equipped with an arsenal of gadgets for investigation and infiltration, and is also well versed in martial arts combat. The game will be set in the sprawling cities of Tokyo and Yokohama that has been developed with utmost authenticity to replicate the feeling of Japan’s bustling urban forests.

It’s not too late to join the party either. The remastered version of the first game, Judgment, was recently released last April 23, 2021.
