The winners in four categories for the 25th Osamu Tezuka Cultural Prize winners have been announced via Asahi Shinbun on Wednesday.

Land by Kazumi Yamashita

Kazumi Yamashita’s Land nabs the Grand Prize. Kanehito Yamada and Tsukasa Abe’s fantasy manga Sousou no Frieren wins the “New Work” prize, while Hiroko Nohara’s Kieta Mama Tomo wins the “Short Work” prize. Special commendation was given to Koyoharu Gotouge for the overall success of Kimetsu no Yaiba series.

The other nominees include Aono-kun ni Sawaritai kara Shinitai by Umi Shiina, Kashikokute Yuki aru Kodomo by Miki Yamamoto, Jujutsu Kaisen by Gege Akutami,  Bara wa Shuraba de Umareru by Nami Sasou, Peleliu: Rakuen no Guernica by Kazuyoshi Takeda, and The Promised Neverland by Kaiu Shirai and Posuka Demizu.

The nominees were announced back in February 2021. The awards ceremony will be held on June 3, 2021 at the Hamarikyuu Asahi Small Hall in Tsukiji, Tokyo.
