During the 10th anniversary weekend celebration of Puella Magi Madoka Magica, a new film for the franchise has been announced, together with a teaser trailer and a poster.

Entitled “Puella Magi Madoka Magica: Walpurgis no Kaiten,” the film will continue the story following the 2013 Madoka Magica film “Rebellion” as a direct sequel. Original Madoka staff are set to return, particularly Akiyuki Shinbo as Director, Gen Urobutchi as Scriptwriter, Ume Aoki as character designer, and Junichiro Taniguchi as animation director. Yuki Kajiura will be composing the score, while Shaft will serve as the film’s animation studio.

Puella Magi Madoka Magica first aired in Japan from January-April 2011 with 12 episodes. The franchise has spawned multiple manga, anime, and game spinoffs throughout its ten-year history.
