E3 2021: Arkane Austin announces vampire-hunting co-op “Redfall”

The Bethesda-Xbox 2021 E3 show capped off with a twist no one saw coming. Arkane Austin announced a new IP called Redfall, alongside its announce trailer showcasing a bit of the game’s overall story.

Redfall was originally speculated to be the next Elder Scrolls game. On the contrary, the game is an open-world co-op shooter game that pits humans against vampires. The cinematic trailer showed off four characters with special powers, namely Devinder Crousley, Layla Ellison, Jacob Boyer, and Remi De La Rosa. These four are up against vampires (also with unique skills), who have been created after a scientific experiment went horribly wrong. Supporting the vampires are other humans, particularly cultists venerating the vampires.

Redfall is a collaborative work between Arkane Austin and Evan Narcisse, former Kotaku game journalist and comicbook writer for Marvel’s Rise of the Black Panther. The official website also indicates that the game seamlessly blends single-player and multiplayer features.

Redfall will release for Xbox Series X|S and PC in 2022. It will also be coming to Xbox Game Pass from day one of release.
