Night City Wire episode 4 (video above) finally shows us the true endgame of Cyberpunk 2077. It’s not the big battles or a massive plot twist that will ultimately drive (pun intended) the game. Rather, it’s the cars and various fashion styles that Night City have.
Cars in Night City are subdivided according to its looks and use, from the budget utilitarian vehicles, to large trucks, luxury types, muscle cars, and hypercars. Each car has its unique revving sound, interior and exterior looks. Further, the performance of the car you drive also depends on the condition it’s in (ie: a trashier, banged-up version of the same model may not run as fast as a brand-new one). Naturally, a racing minigame is also included in Night City.
In addition to the numerous car models, CD Projekt Red has also teamed up with Keanu Reeves and Gard Hollinger, co-owners of Arch Motorcycles. Arch’s concept motor, the Method 143, will be featured in-game as a one of the driveable motorcycle options.
Episode 4 also showed a brief look at the various fashion styles present in Night City, and a very brief view of the character customization screen. Cyberpunk 2077 has a ton of fashion options, from the gaudiest to the most low-key customizations possible in a cybernetic world.
Alongside Night City Wire episode 4, a new teaser trailer called “The Diner” was also released, introducing V to the cyberpunk world of Night City.
Cyberpunk 2077, an open-world, action-adventure story from CD PROJEKT RED, is coming to Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC on November 19th, 2020, with the version for Google Stadia confirmed to launch on the same date. The game will also be playable on Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5 consoles when available.
