It was reported a month ago that AT&T TimeWarner is set to sell off its gaming division, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment for a whopping US$ 4 billion. The deal includes Rocksteady (Batman Arkham series), Netherrealm (Mortal Kombat), WB Games Montreal, Monolith Productions (Middle Earth: Shadows of Mordor, and Shadows of War), and 5th Cell (Scribblenauts).
According to The Information, reliable sources indicated that Microsoft is thinking of dipping its toes in the buyout of Warner Bros.’s gaming division. However, since nothing has been made official, including the sale, there’s no finality on the end of AT&T TimeWarner, and that of Microsoft.
Also worth noting is that Microsoft is going against three other major gaming companies that have already initially expressed interest in the buyout when news of the purported sale came about, namely Take-Two Interactive, EA Games, and Activision-Blizzard.
