Shaman King will return for a new anime adaptation


The official Shaman King website has revealed that a new anime adaptation of Hiroyuki Takei’s manga is slated for an April 2021 premiere. This new anime will adapt the completed 35 volumes of the series, which has also begun its print run by Kodansha this June 17, 2020. The 2001 anime adaptation will also be streamed in Japan on Full☆Anime TV and Bonbon TV.

Shaman King began its serialization in Shueisha’s Weekly Shounen Jump in 1998, and ended in 2004, with a true ending published in 2009. Spinoffs include Shaman King 0 published in 2011, and Shaman King Flowers running from 2012-2014. Shaman King: The Super Star is the latest arc in the series, which began its run in Shounen Magazine Edge in 2018.
