Be a viking in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla

Ubisoft has finally and officially unveiled the latest installment in the Assassin’s Creed franchise: Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. The title, logo, and setting reveal was done through a slow burn live-drawing of the official art by BossLogic on April 29th, 2020, while the cinematic trailer premiered a day later.

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla tells the story of Eivor the wolf-kissed (pronounced as “Ay-vor,” with a long A), “a fierce viking raider raised on tales of battles and glory.” Eivor, confirmed to be customizable as either male or female (and both are canon), will be leading a group of Norsemen forced to leave Norway due to “wars and dwindling resources in the ninth century CE,” according to Creative Director Ashraf Ismail. Eivor and their band of Norsemen will be travelling to England to seek a new home, but will be met with resistance from the Saxons, especially King Alfred of Wessex (seen in the trailer). The game is said to have a revamped combat system, and will allow Eivor to dual-wield different weapons. Valhalla will also see the return of the hidden blade, which is revealed in the trailer to be worn above the wrist.

Danish actor Magnus Bruun will be portraying the male version of Eivor, while Danish actress Cecile Stenspil will portray the female version. Bruun has appeared as Cnut in the Netflix series The Last Kingdom.

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla will be available this Holiday 2020 for the Xbox Series X, Playstation 5, Xbox One, Playstation 4, and PC as an Epic Games Store exclusive. Multiple editions and a series of Ubicollectibles merchandise will also be made available for pre-order and on launch:
