Previously revealed in SDCC, The Eternals will be the MCU’s next standard-bearer cosmic superteam for Phase 4. During the D23 Expo on August 23-25, 2019, the MCU Panel showed off the cast of The Eternals and a new featured artwork revealing the team’s costumes.
The film stars Angelina Jolie as Thena, Richard Madden as Ikaris, Salma Hayek as Ajak, Kumail Nanjiana as Kingo, Brian Tyree Henry as Phastos, Lia McHugh as Sprite, Dong-seok Ma as Gilgamesh, and Lauren Ridloff as Makkari.
The surprise announcement came with the additional casting for the movie. Madden’s fellow Game of Thrones alum, Kit Harrington, will also join the movie as Dane Whitman, the Black Knight. Captain Marvel’s Minn-erva, Gemma Chan, will take on a second role in the MCU as Sersi. And Barry Keoghan (George from Dunkirk) will be the film’s primary antagonist, Druig.
The Eternals is directed by Chloe Zhao, and will premiere worldwide on November 6, 2020.
