Following up from the Macross-filled set from last year’s Cosplay Mania musical artist, Nakajima Megumi, another Macross Frontier and anisong alum, May’n, is featured as one of the musical guests for this year’s JAM Concert.

As is tradition with each year’s JAM Concert, three more musical artists complete the weekend set:

  • MYTH&ROID
  • ASAKA
  • YASUTAKA NAKATA

Nakabayashi Mei, known by her stage name May’n, made her debut in 2005 with the single “Crazy, Crazy, Crazy.” Her musical career took off when she became the signing voice of Macross Frontier’s Sheryl Nome together with Nakajima Megumi’s Ranka Lee. In the course of her career, she has held sold out five Nippon Budokan performances, and has had 80 worldwide performances since her career began. With six albums under her profile, a growing list of singles releases, and a sought-after artist for anisong albums.

MYTH&ROID is a Japanese pop rock band that debuted in 2015. Comprised of Tom-H@ck, hotaru, and KIHOW, their first foray into the J-pop scene was through their song “L.L.L.” as the ending theme to the anime Overlord. Other songs of the band were featured in other anime such as BBK/BRNK, Re:Zero – Starting Life in Another World, Saga of Tanya the Evil, and Boogiepop and Others.

Asaka, the third anisong artist on the roster, also debuted in 2015 after winning a karaoke contest championship. Her first single, “Open your eyes,” was featured as the ending song to Occultic;Nine. Her music has also been featured in Laid-Back Camp, A Centaur’s Life, and YU-NO: A Girl Who Chants Love at the Bound of this World.

Completing the roster, Yasutaka Nakata is a DJ, record producer, and composer who began his career in 2001 with the song “Sakura” with his band Capsule. He has worked with other famous Japanese artists such as Perfume, Kyary Pamyu Pamyu, and SMAP in the production of a wide variety of J-pop music.
