Shochiku streamed a digest video for the new Rurouni Kenshin stage play on June 28, 2018. The video featured the play’s main characters namely Kenshin’s shadow, Sanosuke, Saitō, Aoshi, Kaoru, Sōzaburō, and Kenshin. The play is slated to run in Tokyo from October 11 to November 7, 2018. It’s then set to premiere in Osaka from November 15 to 24, 2018.
The play’s main casts include Seina Sagiri as Himura Kenshin. Moka Kamishiraishi as Kamiya Kaoru. Mitsuru Matsuoka as Kanō Sōzaburō. Yūsuke Hirose as Saitō Hajime. Ryosuke Miura as Shinomori Aoshi. Takuya Uehara as Ssagara Sanosuke. Kōdai Matsuoka as Kenshin’s Shadow.
The other casts are Ryuji Kamiyama as Takeda Kanryū. Mika Aihara as Takani Megumi. Hitomi Tsukikage as Yamagata Tomoko. Yūsuke Tōyama as Sebastian. Hiroshi Miyagawa as Yamagata Aritomo. Kenshirō Katō, Sōsuke Ōgawara, and Shirabe Kawaguchi are a tiple cast for Myōjin Yahiko.
Rurouni Kenshin is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Nobuhiro Watsuki. The manga first launched in Shueisha’s Weekly Shōnen Jump magazine from April 25, 1994 to September 21, 1999. The series got an anime adaptation that aired in Japan from January 10, 1996 to September 8, 1998. It later got a live-action film adaptation in 2012 starring Takeru Satoh.
