Despite the announcement of Pokemon Let’s Go Pikachu and Eevee, The Pokemon Company confirmed that there is still a different “core” Pokemon game coming for the Nintendo Switch in 2019.

A spokesperson for The Pokemon Company initially confirmed upon the reveal of Pokemon Let’s Go that this game isn’t part of the Pokemon core series. It can be recalled that Tsunekazu Ishihara, president of The Pokemon Company, did confirm way back in 2017 about this core title in development for the Switch. However, few details have been released about it to date. Let’s Go, on the other hand, is merely considered as an expansion to the series, aimed at younger fans and players who have not experienced playing Pokemon Go for mobile.
In a recent tweet from the official Pokemon Twitter account, the said “core” game would be slated for the second half of 2019, which gives players at least a year to enjoy the Let’s Go series as a temporary salve.
