2018 is definitely the year for big name guests in the Philippine pop culture event setting. From Overwatch voice actors to SCANDAL to Haikyuu!! stage actors, local events aren’t letting up with renowned celebrities and artists visiting the country. The latest to join this amazing tradition is the biggest toy convention in the Philippines, The Philippine Toys, Hobbies and Collectibles Convention (Philippine ToyCon) 2018.

On the night of May 1, 2018, the official Facebook page of Philippine ToyCon announced their first guest to headline the event. For the first time in the Philippines, Jason David Frank will be gracing the event. Frank is well-known for his role as Tommy Oliver, the Green Ranger in the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers series, before upgrading to the White Ranger. Throughout the Power Rangers franchise, Frank has also taken up the mantle of the Red Zeo Ranger, Red Turbo Ranger, and the Black Dino Ranger. His latest role is that of Lord Drakkon, a corrupt Tommy Oliver from an alternate Earth. Outside of Power Rangers, Frank is also a mixed martial artist, and recently landed the role of Valiant Comic’s Bloodshot for the webseries tie-in of Ninjak vs. The Valiant Universe.

Previous Power Rangers actors include Dacre Montgomery from the Power Rangers reboot film and Walter Jones (the original Black Ranger), both having been to the Philippines on two separate occasions.

The organizers of Philippine ToyCon still have a few more announcements to make, regarding their guest line-up. And ticket sales have yet to be announced as well.

Philippine ToyCon is happening on June 8-10, 2018 at the SMX Convention Center, Mall of Asia Complex, Pasay City, Philippines.
