Nintendo’s Representative Director and President Tatsumi Kimishima will retire from the position on June 28, 2018. He will assume office as Executive Adviser. Shuntaro Furukawa will become the new Representative Director and President of Nintendo.
Nintendo announced the changes at a Board of Directors meeting held on April 26, 2018. Kimishima became the Representative Director and President of Nintendo in September 2015. He succeeded Satoru Iwata after he passed away in July 2015.
Shuntaro Furukawa joined Nintendo in April 1994. He became an outside director for the Pokemon Company in May 2012. He also served as the General Manager of the Corporate Planning Department in July 2015, and served as a Director in June 2016.
