During the “Gundam Franchise New Event Unveiling,” Sunrise surprised the crowd with more Universal Century projects in the pipeline. The teaser came in a presentation after Mobile Suit Gundam Narrative (NT) was revealed as the next anime film sequel to Gundam Unicorn.

Apart from Mobile Suit Gundam NT, the slide showed two other projects, namely Hathaway’s Flash anime film trilogy, and an untitled Gundam UC2 project. Other Universal Century stories are also in the pipeline as games, specifically Mobile Suit Variations Gaiden, Char’s Counterattack UC: The Secret Story of Gundam Development, Universal Century Episode 0, and UC0100: The Renunciation of Zeon Autonomy.

Hathaway’s Flash is slated for a possible Fall 2019 release, while the untitled UC2 project, set in a drama format, will possibly be released by 2022.

The event emcees and Gundam Unicorn novelist Fukui Harutoshi warned the attendees to pretend they did not see that slide. Apart from Gundam NT, none of the upcoming projects were said to be greenlit yet.

Hathaway’s Flash was released in a three-volume novel series in 1989 to 1990, written by Yoshiyuki Tomino. The story centers around Hathaway Noa, son of the Londo Bell special forces unit Captain Bright Noa.
