“Tensei Shitara Slime Datta Ken” TV anime announced


Light novel “Tensei Shitara Slime Datta Ken” or That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime is getting its own TV anime.

The reveal came from Seibundo Bookstore’s Minami-Urawa branch in a Twitter post. The Twitter image showed the upcoming 12th volume of the light novel with the sleeve jacket announcing its anime adaptation. The said light novel has also reached 4.5 million copies in print. The volume will ship this Friday, March 9, 2018. We have yet to see when the anime will be released, but hopefully the latest volume will reveal more information.

Cast and crew have yet to be announced as well.

The light novel is written by Fuse, with art by Mitz Vah. It was serially launched in the Shousetsuka ni Narou website from 2013 to 2016. It began its print run in 2014 by Micro Magazine. It inspired a manga adaptation by Taiki Kawakami in Kodansha’s Monthly Shounen Sirius. Kodansha Comics publishes the manga in English, while Yen Press has licensed the light novel.

“Tensei Shitara Slime Datta Ken” tells the story of 37-year-old Satoru Mikami, a loner with dissatisfied with his dead-end life, suddenly killed by a robber. He wakes up the next day reincarnated in a fantasy world as a slime monster.
